Author Ayushi Jain Captures the Truth of Human Emotions in Her Poetic Collection साँच: कविता-संग्रह

Poetry has the extraordinary ability to express emotions that often remain unspoken, and Author Ayushi Jain beautifully embraces this power in her debut poetry collection, साँच: कविता-संग्रह (Saanch: Kavita - Sangrah).

The title साँच represents truth—not merely factual truth, but the emotional honesty that quietly resides within every human heart. Through this thoughtfully curated collection of poems, the author takes readers on a journey through life's many stages, capturing the innocence of childhood, the questions of youth, the warmth of relationships, moments of solitude, and the wisdom that accompanies maturity.

Rather than following a conventional narrative, the poems unfold naturally, allowing each emotion to shape its own rhythm. Every verse encourages readers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own memories, experiences, and emotions. Whether it is a forgotten smile, an unspoken longing, a cherished relationship, or the strength found after life's hardships, साँच transforms ordinary moments into deeply meaningful reflections.

Drawing inspiration from personal experiences as well as observations of the world around her, Author Ayushi Jain creates poetry that is simple, relatable, and emotionally authentic. Her writing reminds readers that although every journey is unique, emotions such as love, hope, loneliness, resilience, and self-discovery are universal.

More than a poetry collection, साँच: कविता-संग्रह serves as an invitation to slow down in today's fast-moving world, embrace every phase of life, and rediscover the beauty hidden within everyday experiences. It is a timeless collection that speaks directly to the heart and leaves readers with a lasting sense of comfort, introspection, and hope.

1. What draws you to the medium of poetry, and how do you believe it offers a distinctive way to communicate emotions and ideas?

Poetry has always felt like the most natural way for me to express emotions that are often difficult to explain in ordinary words. I never started writing with the intention of becoming a poet. I simply began putting my thoughts and feelings on paper, and over time those emotions found their own rhythm. I believe poetry has a unique ability to touch people because it speaks directly to the heart. A few simple lines can often express what pages of prose cannot. Through Saanch, I wanted to capture the truth of human emotions in their simplest and most honest form.

2. Can you share the inspiration behind the theme of your poems, and how it influenced the tone and structure of it?

The inspiration behind Saanch came from observing life itself. Every stage of life carries different emotions, lessons, relationships, and silent struggles. I wanted to create a collection that reflects this complete journey from childhood innocence to the wisdom that comes with age. The tone naturally changes with every phase because our emotions evolve as we grow. Instead of following a rigid structure, I allowed each poem to flow according to the feeling it carried, making the collection feel like one continuous journey through life.

3. Poetry often invites readers to interpret and connect on a personal level. How do you navigate the balance between conveying your intended meaning and leaving room for individual interpretation?

While writing, I focus on being emotionally honest rather than overly descriptive. I express what I truly feel but avoid explaining every emotion completely. I believe every reader brings their own memories and experiences to a poem. If someone finds a part of themselves within my words, then the poem has fulfilled its purpose. I don't want readers to simply understand my story. I want them to discover their own story within it.

4. Can you describe your approach to crafting the musicality of your language, and how it contributes to the overall experience for readers?

I write by listening to the natural rhythm of emotions rather than following strict poetic rules. I read every poem aloud while writing to ensure it flows smoothly and feels natural. The rhythm, repetition, and simplicity of the language help create an emotional connection. My goal is that readers don't just read the poems; they feel as if they are experiencing each moment themselves.

5. Many poets draw inspiration from their own experiences. How does your personal journey and background influence the themes and imagery in your poetry?

My personal journey has deeply shaped my writing, but Saanch is not merely my autobiography. It is a reflection of emotions that many people experience at different stages of life. Some poems come from my own experiences, while others are inspired by observing people around me and understanding their emotions. I believe that feelings like love, hope, loneliness, happiness, and self-discovery are universal, and that belief became the foundation of this collection.

6. In your work, how do you use poetry as a means of commentary or reflection on the world around you?

Rather than directly commenting on society, I prefer to reflect on the emotional realities of everyday life. Today's world moves very fast, leaving little time for people to pause and understand themselves. Through Saanch, I wanted to remind readers to slow down, embrace their emotions, value relationships, and accept every phase of life. Sometimes the strongest message comes through quiet reflection rather than loud statements.

7. Readers may be curious about your writing rituals. Can you share any specific routines or practices you find helpful in cultivating your creativity and honing your craft as a poet?

I don't follow a fixed writing schedule because I believe genuine poetry cannot be forced. Most of my ideas come from ordinary moments—a conversation, a memory, a quiet evening, or simply observing people. I often note down thoughts as they come to me and revisit them later. Before considering a poem complete, I read it several times to ensure it carries the same emotion I originally felt. For me, writing is less about discipline and more about honesty.
